Whistle GPS
This system is cellular based, however, because it works off of a new cellular technology (Sub-GHz), the Whistle GPS is the smallest GPS device for dogs and has the longest lasting battery of any cellular based dog GPS tracking system. The internal rechargeable battery lasts up to 10 days, depending upon use, and only takes 1 hour to fully charge. Like other cell based GPS Tracking devices, you can set up a safe zone for your pet and you will be alerted via text message when your pet leaves the safe zone. You can then pin point your dog’s location and track them using the Whistle app. You can view your pet’s location via the app’s satellite view or standard map settings. The device weighs 1.3 ounces and measures 1.5 x 4.2 x 0.8 inches. Not only does the device allow you to track the whereabouts of your dog, it also monitors your pet’s daily activity. The GPS device automatically syncs with your smart phone and alerts you to changes in your dog’s activity level. Apps are available for Android and iOS devices. You can track multiple pets using only one base unit. The GPS device is best for dogs over 15 pounds and features an adjustable attachment, compatible with all collars and harnesses. Whistle GPS Pet Tracker attaches to any collar or harness up to 2” wide. At this time, Whistle GPS support is only available in the United States.
A comparable GPS dog tracking device is the Tagg Pet Tracker. Like the Whistle GPS, it tracks the location of your dog and also monitors the activity level of your pet.
